Have you ever had a goal that you thought you may never reach? I know I have, but one woman has taken her lifelong dream and made it a reality. On February 5, 2009 Jennifer Figge, the 56-year-old endurance athlete, reached Trinidad’s Chacachacare Island after swimming portions of the Atlantic Ocean. The seas sometimes were so high that she could see only the top of the catamaran’s mast. She had been dreaming of swimming across the Atlantic Ocean since she was a kid, and she finally completed her dream by swimming from the Cape Verde Islands off the coast of Africa to Trinidad. Her story only further proves that no matter how big a goal you may have, it is never unattainable!
